On hormone attacks and the subtle art of not giving a fuck....

As we know, we're about a month or so away from Gordon making a big, ugly stupid fool of himself throwing himself at a girl he stands no chance with because he believes that since he likes this Alyson girl, she's obliged to like him back despite that being quite frankly fucking bullshit. What really sells his idiotic desperation is what he calls "having a hormone attack" and what I call "making an ugly and repulsive display of himself."

The reason that I mention this is that while I saw a lot of stupid crap in junior high and high school, I never saw anything resembling a combination between Morris dancing and an ableist caricature of a grand mal seizure being used as a sort of wonk mating display. At the time of original publication, I merely thought that we were being treated to a rather sinister reductio ad absurbdam of sitcom shtick and pigeonholed it next to Horshak's laugh, Fish's constipation and Fonzie's being whatever he was supposed to be. It was only in the last few years that I'd realized that Lynn has distinct trouble writing male dialogue and understanding male behaviour and probably thinks that hormone attacks actually happen.
