How to breed discomfort: Mike's golden road to failure

Over the years, it's been obvious that Michael has had little use for for Grandpa Jim. The sullen little boy who hated the grumpy old man who wanted to tear him away from passively watching televison until his rump went numb has matured into the revolting jerk who goes out of his way to be disgusted and alarmed by the aging process. This would be bad enough in itself were he single. Unfortunately, through a series of bizarre coincidences, the appalling lump of excrement not only managed to reproduce, he was and is also permitted to pass on his warped values onto the innocents luckless enough to have him as a father. Simply put, if Meredith and Robin watch him look as if he's about to vomit because he caught old people germs long enough, they'll think it's normal to act like that. It's a good thing for Françoise, then, that Jim will be dead soon enough. By the time it occurs to Liz, who was always too busy whining about how nobody liked her to spend time with her grandparents, to visit him, it'll be too late and her stepchild will be spared being warped by Call-me-Elizabeth's visible and audible revulsion.
