Elly Richards: filling the gaps.

There are certain clues that might help us clarify what Elly used to be like as a child. First off, we've seen her struggle her way through an adult education class because she was too stubborn and stupid to keep up. What this tells us is that she was, at best, an indifferent student. This meshes with her chronic inability to anticipate how children or pets will react in a given situation. She always expects April or Edgar to do what's most convenient for her and is always disappointed. No matter how many times this happens, she never seems to realize that she might be the one to have to change how she does things. She also doesn't ever to realize what actually is best for herself or others but plods stupidly on, moving heaven and earth to ram her idiot notion of Utopia down people's throats. We also see her throwing fit after fit when her petty purposes are frustrated, her whining about a legion of fictitious woes and her distinct lack of empathy for people who get in her way. This strongly indicates that she used to be the leading henchperson for her high school's queen bee.
