Character X: how to do the new-runs right.

As you know, the strip for 28 September 2008 was sort of confusing. Given that Elly was so prettied up as to be almost unrecognizable, it almost looked as if no Pattersons were involved in the making of that Sunday strip. This gave one of the posters that commented on it an interesting idea: the new runs could and should have had a different character as the focus. Let's say, for sake of argument, that on Labor Day we'd been treated to a series of strips featuring the boring daily life of AnneAchronism. We could then see life in the Pattermanse from her perspective. Having a friendly outsider show us what the Foobs look like to them would really give us the fresh insights on the characters that Lynn promised us. This has another advantage: Lynn could explain away any shifts in motivation as observer error.
