The probability gap.....

As you know, Elly made a mess of her life by jumping to silly conclusions; this is bad enough on its own but since children learn by example, April, Mike and Liz followed their mother down the path of smug, self-righteous belief in inane delusions. This is why we're about to see Mike think that if he can be nasty enough, the stork will realize he made a mistake and take the whiny blonde girl back so things can go back to how they should be. This dovetails nicely with his being a five-year-old who wants to be treated like a toddler; he envies someone no normal child would. In the fullness of time, we'll be subjected to that same little girl never wanting anything to change; she wants to cling to her parents' ankles forever and ever and goes so far as to marry the drone they chose for her so she could stay safe. Agaim, it's not normal, it ruined her life and she was stupid to think it's a good idea.
