Snarky Candiru2

The perils of martyrdom

There's something about Elly's constant complaining that she married a chauvinstic boor that never understood how hard she had it, never wanted her to have a life outside the home and went out of his way to belittle her and downplay how easy she made his life that starts to grate on the nerves after a while: wondering why she married him in the first place. As clio_1 said she starts to look stupid for picking such a moron. She also sort of looks like the sort of woman who shows up on People's Court and tells the judge that THIS time, her merely-emotionally-if-not-actually-physically abusive son-of-a-bitch ex has his shit together this time so she's not going to press charges. All I can say is that Rod had to have the patience of a saint for having to be pilloried for Doug's excesses. It's sort of clear, you see, that the Early John was a sort of amalgam of both of Lynn's husbands and thus a means by which she expressed her discontent with both of them.
