Snarky Candiru2

Elly's empty imagination......

One of the most ridiculous things about Elly's wanting to take a creative writing course is that she isn't terribly creative to begin with. She isn't all that smart and, well, is so filled with self-pity, her mind is so consumed by fears and anxieties that she cannot imagine anything other than her artificially miserable existence. Since Lynn doesn't seem to care what strips she retrieves from the pile, we're bound to see Elly's greatest contributions to literature all over again: long, boring poems which describe how horrible it is to be a stay-at-home mother in language so coarse, so overwrought, you hope the damned things are parodies but realize to your horror aren't. Realzing that Elly actually does seem to see full diapers, active children, full washing machines and messy rooms as horrors too bleak to contemplate will leave you all with feelings of dread and disgust at how twisted-up inside she is.
