Snarky Candiru2

Ain’t no cure for the summertime foobs.

My post yesterday should not be taken as a sign that John and Elly are always at cross-purposes. There is, as I’ve said before, one issue on which they are in perfect agreement: the need to not have the children hanging around the house all summer long lest they grow spoiled and entitled. This, of course, is owing to their not being as well off as when they were young. (Coincidentally, that's why I once described Foob to my mom as being the adventures of yuppie scum from Toronto and their ungrateful brats.) What this tells me is that John and Elly are always confused and angered when the kids object to whatever plan is imposed on them; just as Elly tells them they should be happy she can afford to cook her Little Beige Surprise, John is perplexed that Mike is not thrilled that his parents can afford to send him off to the farm to learn the value of hard work.
