Elly: enemy of free time.

As you all already know, Elly spent most of her adult life lamenting the fact that she did not have any free time to herself. She envied Connie her 'exciting', 'glamorous' job of telling nervous hospital patients to stay still and not worry that the X-ray machine might give them cancer and her freedom from the emotional support she craved. She even envied the willfully-blind Annie the ease with which she seemed to raise her children; granted, she didn't understand why Annie refused to do the same stupid things her mother did when she herself made the same horrible mistakes Grate-Grandma Marian made but she did envy the effortless-looking results. This, sadly, is because, as I've said before, Elly seems to not want to organize her time properly. If she were to do things the right way instead of mindlessly imitating a woman who seemed to have OCD, she'd have the free time she needed. Not, of course, that she'd be grateful for all that time to herself; all she'd have was a tidy home and happy children who'd grow up to be responsible members of society. Where was the fun in that?
