The Continental: April's own personal Blandthony.

You get the feeling that the Patterson women have low sales resistance when it comes to choosing their menfolk. After all, Elly aimed pretty frakkin' low when she picked TrainMan, didn't she. We also see Foob-by-assciation Deanna and HER husband; you will never convince me that Saint Narcissus was the best man she could find. That dog don't hunt! Unsympathetic romantic protagonist ObliviLiz and her two sub-par suitors are the chief source of disgust we feel, surpassing even Mikerobe and the People's Tome of Abuse Porn. Given their horrid example, it shouldn't come as any surprise that April can't manage to locate a decent male contemporary to crush on. This brings us to the annoying figure of Gerald. The unimpressive young dolt is unabashedly rude to April's Handicapped Friend[tm], Shannon, has no sense, no class, no foresight and has all the winning charm of a dyspeptic Tasmanian devil. You come away with the feeling the only reason she hasn't kicked the dreary louse to the curb is that she, like the rest of the women in this daily assassination of sanity, imprinted on him like a barnyard animal. This sort of stimulus-response take on romance seems to be what StaLynn calls 'twoo wuv'; it would also explain the otherwise incomprehensible presence of Anthony 'I have no hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooome' Caine, not to mention Warren 'Airborne Stalker Freakshow' Blackwood.
