It's fairly hard to really enjoy the cute, whimsical slice-of-life strips that occasionally appear in the Land of New-ruins. That's because, as trumanf said, we all remember how petty, vain, mean-spirited, spiteful, vindictive, short-tempered and above-all violent the Pattersons can get when they choose to be offended by something. That means, of course, that not a one of them can take a joke. Their reaction to harmless-seeming horseplay is, of course, to scream, bluster, threaten and, if angry enough, to strike the target of their rage. Eventually, of course, they mope about how the magic that TV promised never materialized.
