The flattening of Jeremy Duncan.

There's another insidious effect of the need that Scott and Borgman have to express their disgust that a generation that does not share their idea of how the world should be must inevitably supplant them has on their strip; not only must their cast be whittled down to pretty much the same size as The Lockhorns, they also have to have their personalities be flattened to what is almost zero dimensionality. I remember that the Jeremy of the earliest years had the curiosity to wonder about his place in the world to temper the typical teenaged belieft that what was happening to him at the moment was happening for the first time in the history of everything; he also had the vague worry that it wasn't and he was making an ass of himself. Not anymore; he has no introspection, no insight and no clue why his witless behavior annoys the people around him. All he is is a kid living in a daze who'd probably need a GPS to find his own asshole.
