Fast, fast decay: Between Ellys.

The problem, of course, with leaving before you run out of things to say is that sometimes creators hit the ground running with nothing in the tank, idea-wise. Such is the case with the strip Between Friends by Canadian artist Sandra Bell-Lundy. The strip can be safely summarized as being the spiritual successor to Foob owing to how the three woman at the center of everything make me think that Elly took a vacation on Kamino and visited the cloning labs. One thus has Susan (or Elly-with-fertility-issues), Maeve (divorced Elly) and Kim (black Elly) pretty much doing the same sort of shtick real Elly does so well. The same need to summon the WAHHHHHmbulance because the needs of other people get in the way of whatever Elly one is focusing on’s endless need to navel gaze, the same blank-eyed inability to cope with the behavior of children, the same aging gracelessly and the same spineless refusal to really stick up for one’s self as it gets in the way of happy martyrdom are all there ready for anyone who wants a fix of Foobery.
