Jon: the Nice Guy™

The immediate fallout of the dissolution of Candi's relationship with the dismal, entitled dough-head Alex was not only a body blow to the main character; it was to disappoint the holy living crap of her housemate Jon. His major malfunction is that he, despite being told otherwise, thinks that there's a hope in Hell that Candi will feel about him the way he does about her. Simply put, he's more or less what Shaenon Garrity called a Nice Guy™ when she listed all the things she hated about Blandthony. What that means is that he's a dweeby, insecure little jerk who thinks that he's a lot more appealing than he actually is and it's the fault of the women who have no time for him that they reject him. One would assume that the end of the strip will find him in a pub with Alex talking smack about the main character because she didn't come a-calling when a callow little piece of excrement told her to.
