Son of the maturity deficit

As I said the other day, the cast members all seem to live in fear of learning hard lessons about themselves because of the need to not become the sort of evil, selfish, callous, oblivious bonehead dork parents that Starline appears to have cribbed from bad fiction about swell teens being oppressed by their plastic parental units. The problem I have with this is that I have to look at the dumb kids totally God-damned missing the point and being proud of it. The current arc will demonstrate the problem; as you know, we started with Trevor lying about his sexual orientation to the people at the blood-mobile. Since the FDA imposed an indefinite deferral on men who’ve had sex with men owing to it being a risk factor in the transmission of HIV, he could be considered to have committed what we Canadians call an indictable offense and what you in the States call a felony. That seems to be lost on his partner Matt; he’s acting like an in-grown hair because Trev, who sort of needs to not out himself because he still hopes to reconcile with his parents, isn’t as comfortable with being outed as he is. It’s not about Trev’s exposing the public, it’s about his not telling strangers who don’t ask who the M Trev had S with who he is.
