Not MY Daughter: the flipside of ogling.

As I promised yesterday, I'm about to talk about an interesting habit John has. As we've seen, he feels free to slobber over every reasonably-attractive female on the face of the Earth but insists that April and Elizabeth dress conservatively. This is not, repeat, NOT owing to anything like concern for their psychological or physical well-being; he's proven that what they think or feel is not only the last thing on his mind, thinking of that is a sign of the weakness he dreads and despises. His thought processes are roughly as follows:

1) I, as a healthy male, am allowed to leer at other people's daughters and no one, least of all the objects of my lechery, is allowed to object.

2) MY daughters, on the other hand, are not to be slobbered over because they are mine.

3) Ha-ha-ha.

It's sort of fortunate for him that he married a woman that never seems to see this sort of wrongful thought as being a problem owing to her dad being a frustrated lecher who has a vague dread of gender equality; otherwise, he'd actually have to defend his position that he, as the alpha male, HAS to have things all his own way while the lesser people around him (lesser being defined as immature males and females at any stage of life) must give way to him and his mighty organ. This sort of knuckle-dragging douchebaggery is referred to as being a nice guy and straight shooter.
