Georgia versus Phil's past....

One of the more amusing parts of Phil and Georgia's relationship is how she handled the uncomfortable reality of Connie Poirier; as we all know, she was sort of blindsided by Elly's failure to warn her that one of the people he'd used to date was currently between boyfriends. It really bothered her that Elly had run her fool mouth about all the crap she and Phil pulled on one another when they were young but said not a word about the flat-chested, mannish looking redhead with the predatory gleam in her eyes. What made it worse was that she'd known Elly for two years before even being made aware of Connie's existence. (She knew of Lawrence, of course, but had no idea who his parents were or where they lived.) By this point, of course, Connie was about to leave him, Ted and Milborough in her dust so there was no harm done but it bothered him that he still had lingering feelings for Connie. Georgia was sort of not too thrilled by his slobbering over Connie but was willing to let it slide this once because she probably suspected that her sister-in-law and her leering jackass husband had probably set things in motion to watch the carnage. When we contrast his manning up and facing a problem head on instead of chickening out like his sister and her family, it bothers me that Lynn and Elly think of him as being immature and feckless.
