The reason I mentioned this is the reason that Lizzie is known to give when everyone else but her is doing well in school. It's not that she's oblivious to her surroundings, slow on the uptake and too timid to ask for help. No. HER failings are the result of a plot against her. If it weren't for the same sort of fink that gets her in trouble with her parents, she'd be doing a lot better.
This makes April's tendency to blame whatever woes she has on Evil Becky using her star power to crush her seem almost rational. That's because her excuse is a fun-house mirror distortion of reality. After all, we have on the one hand a D-list celebrity reaching out to her ex-bandmate and on the other, said idiot squeals about betrayal and seems to take an unwholesome pleasure in a baffling reverse the other suffered.
Given their parents' need to evade blame, this is not a surprise....just a disappointment.
