The bookend effect and other endgames.

As I type this, I do so in the knowledge that more and more newspapers have decided that it's not really worth the effort to keep the reprints on the page. This sad fact coincides with not only the end of the treasury project but with the fact that the collections are themselves starting to go out of print. In a few years time, it seems to me that the only places we'll be able to find Lynn's output is either on line or in yard-sales. That being said, it seems to me that what she should have done after her retirement was to sort of do what she was doing before the strip came along and creating some collections of new material based on themes that would appeal to the people who bought the original pre-Foob collections. Instead of talking about pregnancy, the first year of childhood and the years after, she could have a rep company talking about retirement plans and so on and so forth.
