Therese 'makes trouble': A prediction....

It's safe to say that for the Settlepocalypse to happen, two obstacles must be removed. Not only does Elizabeth have to win over Anthony's daughter Françoise, she and Anthony must have their final confrontation with his ex-wife Thérèse. Something tells me this resistance that Liz faces was somehow inspired by someone else's need for payback. This is because I know that not only is Lynn desperately trying to show us the two obsessive weirdos whose beastliness we are forced to endure are actually a pair of helpless inncocents whose pure love is under constant attack for exploiters and usurpers, she is also trying to convince us her endless array of straw-man antagonists are cheaters and haters. It seems to that we very well could told that somehow Thérèse fed Francie a steady diet of monster-under-the-bed stories about the Patterson family in a nasty, selfish bid to drive a wedge between an innocent little girl and the loving mother that a kindly Fate supplied her when her wicked bio-mom abandoned her. The problem, of course, is that we've seen too much of what goes on in the Patterson household not to believe that Thérèse is trying to save her child from a life of misery. Again, we'd end up with Lynn's horrible story-telling unintentionally subverting the moral she wanted to convey.
