Anthony: not yet out of the shadows....

As you no doubt recall, Lynn's primary reason for for deferring the time freeze was that, as she put it, Anthony was a shadowy figure, that she didn't know enough him to be sure that Elizabeth should marry him. By that, of course, she meant WE didn't know enough about him. What I took that to mean was that she'd have expanded on his past a bit further to make him look better. So far, that has yet to happen. It seems to me that she wouldn't have had to do this if she hadn't made a mess of things setting up the Settlepocalypse. What she clearly intended was to have two sweet kids who didn't know they were meant for each other wriggle out of the clutches of cheaters and haters and live happily ever after. The problem is that she pulled her punches by not making Therese and Paul into clear-cut villains, by leaving them open to reform in case she changed her mind. Since she doesn't really get this whole 'logical consistency' thing, she doesn't seem to know or care that people like us aren't going to call them bad guys just because she changed her mind back. This is why Liz and Anthony look like creeps; their creator's failure (or perhaps, refusal) to think things through changes what could have been a modern-day take on a classic story into a sordid look at two obsessives who blind themselves to the carnage their actions cause.
